Due east of village named Ezbet Kom el-Ahmar, the original extent of this site is now very unclear: a large lake to the south may indicate the location of a now-destroyed area. The remainder of the mound has been reduced almost to the level of the surrounding fields. Surface pottery included many body sherds, spikes and handles from late Roman amphora fragments, particularly in an open section at the northern edge of the site. An abandoned mud-brick structure in the centre of the site, badly eroded but with walls standing to almost their original height, is probably a modern building.
